§ catalog · errata

Errata.

Versioned and dated corrections. Full transparency, no silent retraction.

Commitment

This notebook operates on the premise that errata is part of the product, not embarrassment to hide. When an error is identified · by me, by a reader, by later review · it's recorded here, dated, with the affected version, the correction applied, and explicit impact on derived analyses.

There is no silent retraction, retroactive editing without notice, or erasure of past errors. The auditability of the study is exactly this.

Current state

Absence of errata does not mean absence of error · it means I haven't detected any yet. This page is a promise of future transparency, not a certificate of present perfection.

How to report an errata

If you've identified an error, suspect an analysis, or have evidence that a number doesn't match the primary source, please:

  1. Verify the version. The study is versioned · confirm the error is in the current version (v1.0) by checking the data page.
  2. Reproduce with primary source. Ideally, download the raw SUSEP data and redo the computation. If the error persists, I have a methodological problem or a bug.
  3. Write, with direct link to the slice (URL with query string) and description of the error: natancardealrodrigues@gmail.com
  4. Wait for response. Errata has priority over everything. Response within 72 business hours. If errata is confirmed, I publish it here within 5 business days.

Errata process (when published)

Each errata will follow this structure:

## ERR-[NN] · [date] · [affected version]

Summary: [1 sentence of error]

What was wrong: [precise description]
What is correct now: [correction applied]
Impact: [affected analyses, error magnitude]
How it was found: [discoverer + method]
Correction version: [v1.0.1, v1.1, etc]

Errata changes the study's version via SemVer:

  • Patch (v1.0.x) · numerical correction without changing narrative
  • Minor (v1.x.0) · correction that changes the reading of a section
  • Major (vX.0.0) · correction that invalidates previous version entirely

The last case (major) implies retraction of previous version · I'd maintain the history here, with clear notice.

Historical errata

None to date.
